Back by popular demand is our Batwing Dress, a comfortable casual dress made here in Aotearoa.
Print Design: Matariki
Matariki is the Māori name for the cluster of stars also known as the Pleiades. It rises in mid-winter and for many Māori, it heralds the start of a new year.
This pattern represents the nine stars in the Matariki constellation; Matariki, Waitī, Waitā, Tupuānuku, Tupuārangi, Waipunarangi, Ururangi, Pōhutukawa, Hiwa-i-te-rangi.
This garment is our Batwing Dress. The fitting of this garment is oversized, so they are very roomy. If you're not a fan of having an oversized garment, we would recommend you choose a size down from your normal size e.g. If you are normally a size 14 (RUA), we would recommend a size Tahi.
The length of this garment for most is mid thigh(depends on your height) and it has drop sleeves.
We have found the length of this garment to be short on us girls here in the workshop therefore, we would recommend wearing this with a tube skirt or pant for a more styled top look. For those shorter in height, you might find this dress a good length. So expect some variation on length according to your body shape. This dress features shorter sleeves.
Our model Tyeisha is wearing a size RUA.
Sizing: This garment was created using our sizing guide, we create the garments to sit between two sizes, for a bit of flexibility in the sizing range:
TAHI: Size 10 - 12
RUA: Size 14 - 16
TORU: Size 18 - 20
WHA: Size 22 - 24
Fabric details: Merino blend - Merino 24%, pencil 73%, nylon 3%
We recommend washing in a machine with cold water. Gentle wash using mild detergent and do not use any washing detergents that contain bleach.
Once washed, dry garment flat. Do not hang or put in direct sunlight or it will fade and/or lose its shape.
