From our Hiwa i te rangi Collection comes our Matariki high neck Necklace. This is a statement piece and can be adjusted at the back to fit many neck sizes.
The Design this piece represents Matariki, the nine stars.
Matariki is the Māori name for the cluster of stars also known as the Pleiades. It rises in mid-winter and for many Māori, it heralds the start of a new year.
We have used the tukutuku cross to represent one of the nine stars in the Matariki constellation; Matariki, Waitī, Waitā, Tupuānuku, Tupuārangi, Waipunarangi, Ururangi, Pōhutukawa, Hiwa-i-te-rangi. You can see them engraved onto the necklace piece.
