Print Design: Tāniko is a uniquely Maori variation of whatu (twining) and was used to weave the colourful, intricate borders of Korowai (cloaks). The patterns carry connection to whakapapa, identity, and protection. Today, tāniko continues to evolve, bridging ancestral knowledge with contemporary design.

Style: Classic and effortless. This linen skirt features a drawstring elasticated waistband and pockets, designed for comfort and versatility, taking you from day to night, season to season.

Did you know... This garment is made in Kampot, Cambodia by an indigenously owned company called Dorsu, who make slow and considered garments, designed and produced ethically in their production studio. We at Nichola are moving into a space where we want to build good relationships with indigenous business across the world who encapsulate the value of kaitiakitanga (guardianship of people, planet and processes).

Care instructions: 

We recommend washing all knitwear/wool by hand in cold water.  Do not use any washing detergents that contain bleach. 

Once washed, dry garment flat (on top of a towel on a drying rack is best) do not hang or put in direct sunlight or it will fade and/or lose its shape.
